Les auteurs tentent de mettre en évidence à quel point la guerre civile et l’invasion de la part de l’État islamique contribuent à l’émergence de nouvelles stratégies ayant pour but le maintien du gouvernement autoritaire en Syrie which deepens the crisis, is being used as a cover for the actual fi ghts within the civil war which is aiming to overthrow the regime. Ipso facto the threat of the self-proclaimed caliphate clashes with the issue of multilateral war, but – paradoxically – strengthens Al-Asad’s dictatorship. This paper presents holistic look at the issue of Syrian authoritarian regime’s geopolitics of survival. The Authors are trying to determine how the civil war and the Islamic State’s invasion infl uences the formulation of new strategies aimed at sustaining authoritarian regime in Syria fr
