Abstract: Beginning from assumptions on both the Polish language education integration principles and substantial influence of aesthetic education in student’s development the author investigates and analyses professional workshop of a contemporary Polish language teacher. The inspiration is found in the method of intersemiotical translation and its variant which is poetic ekphrasis. The ekphrasis is made an object of the author’s research. Its history is briefly inspected and its lineage traced. Next, the variation suitable for children (Ludwik Janion‘s ekphrasis) is thoroughly discussed. The analysis of chosen works proves that the ekphrasis for children significantly broadens a painting’s reception spectrum. Moreover, it enriches the image in both aural and touch qualities, and in the elements of metaphysic and fantasy. Therefore, it can constitute a valuable didactic aid to a modern Polish language teacher
