Abstract: Set "Matka Odchodzi" arises from the need to save the time already lived, nonexistent, belonging to the past but still marked by a profound experience of losing a close relative. A significant part during an attempt to overcome the time against the inevitability of fate, helplessness and pain, play memory, its autobiographical tinge, intimate softening a voice, lamentation and awareness of lack of “good taste” which indicate the movement of discountenance limits while expressing feelings of emptiness after death of close relative. Różewicz in his private family chronicle, which analyzed set is, submerges the truth of feelings caused by irredeemable leaving. The author, even so, doesn’t seek solace but proves that the most important life value is just life and that profound memory saves from destructive act of oblivion of something valuable. Memory crosses the time, negates its cruelty, evokes the memory of love and proximity which bring salvation.
