Abstract: The article includes reflections on twofold publishing existence of Tadeusz Miciński’s poem Bezaliel which is, at the same time, a part of the poetic novel Xiądz Faust and a separate autonomous unit printed in many collective publications as an individual work. In view of this, there have been analysed the connections between poem and the overall storyline of Xiądz Faust (events included in the particular excerpt affecting the fate of Piotr and Imogena), as well as the allegedly closed structure of the work, indicating the possibility of occurrence of the text in a form that is detached from the novel. Metaphorical dimension of the poem, which is present both in the biblical and esoteric context, have been also discussed.
