Abstract: The starting point in this article is the reflection on the creative processes indicating the struggle of Miciński, the visionary and prophet, with prose forms. As a result of these actions, the writer was blurring the boundaries between literature and existence, both in historical and metaphysical dimensions. As the peak of Miciński’s achievements, in the field of prose, the author of the article recognizes two novels: Nietota. Księga tajemna Tatr (1910) and Xiądz Faust (1913), and he considers them as the duology created by an universalist visionary who is not restricted by any rules of the genre. This duology was supposed to be a modern "secret book" that joins together genesis perspective (Nietota) and eschatological vision (Xiądz Faust). An important role is played by the construction of symbolic space, enclaves of initiation and transformation which have been confronted with analogous structures in modern literature (i.a.: Thomas Mann: The Magic Mountain, Joseph Conrad: Heart of Darkness). The analysis leads to the essential conclusion – the duology of Miciński can be read in two ways: 1) as a proposal of endless, risky search for meaning and fulfilment that is never fully found, and 2) as a suggestion of performance, man's encounter with Transcendence – in perspective the Important role is played by the construction of esoteric symbolic space preventing expression.
